How to write the letter K
Capital K
Line down. From the top right, slant in to the middle, then slant out to the bottom right.
Lowercase k
Tall line down. Slant in to the middle of it, then slant out to the bottom.

How to teach the letter K in 5 minutes
- Say the sound first. Not the name “K” — the sound /k/, as in kit. Play it above and copy it together three times.
- Trace it on the table. Use your finger to trace the capital K and the lowercase k, saying the sound each time.
- Trace it on paper. Do page 1 of the worksheet pack, then write a row of Kk on page 2.
- Find K around you. Books, food labels, road signs — aim for 3 spots, then color the page 3 picture as a reward.
