One card for each of the 44 letter sounds taught on this site, in teaching order — the set to drill daily from s, a, t right through to ure and zh.

What’s inside

  • 4 cards per page across 11 pages, starting s, a, t, p and ending ear, air, ure.
  • Each card shows the sound in slashes (/s/), the letters that spell it (s) and a keyword (sun), so the card works for both reading and saying the sound.
  • The digraph and vowel-team cards (qu, ch, sh, th, ng, nk, ai, ee, oa, oo, ar, or, ur, ow, oi, ear, air, ure) come after the 25 single letters — the same order as the free study plan.

How to use it

  1. Cut out only the cards your child has been taught so far — a small pile they know beats a big pile they guess at.
  2. Show a card, your child says the sound (not the letter name). Right away? It goes in the "know it" pile.
  3. Anything with a pause goes in a second pile and gets shown twice as often tomorrow.
  4. Add the next card on the day that sound is taught in the plan.

Who it’s for

Ages 3–7, from the first week of Stage 1 until every sound is instant. Also useful for older children who know letter names but not sounds.
