Phonics Audio License

Free Use License v1.0 · Last updated: October 25, 2026

Teachers, parents and tutors are welcome to use our phonics sounds for free. This page explains what you can and can't do with them.

Phonicademy Audio Free Use License

Version 1.0. This license covers the audio files in the Phonicademy 44 Sounds Audio Pack and the sound files played on phonicademy.com (the “Sounds”). Phonicademy, operated by Pixeliro (“we”), lets you use the Sounds free of charge, worldwide and non-exclusively, on the terms below. Downloading or using the Sounds means you accept these terms.

You may

  • Play the Sounds at home, with your family, in class, in tutoring, therapy or intervention sessions, and on any device you use.
  • Share them with your own students, their families and colleagues at your school. For example, you can put them in a class drive, Google Classroom, Seesaw, Canvas or a class playlist.
  • Use them in your teaching materials: slides, worksheets (with QR codes or audio links), interactive whiteboard files and free lesson plans.
  • Use them in non-commercial videos and podcasts, such as a free class video or a lesson on a channel that is not monetized, with the credit line below.
  • Convert, trim, re-order or adjust the volume of the files to fit your device or lesson.

You may not

  • Sell the Sounds or share the pack as it is. Don't sell, upload or give away the Sounds as an audio pack, sample library or sound bank, even with changes. Don't offer them as a download on another site, store or marketplace either; link to our free download page instead.
  • Use them in commercial products. This includes paid or ad-supported apps and games, paid courses or curricula, products for sale, toys and devices, and monetized videos or channels.
  • Use them for AI. Don't use the Sounds to train, fine-tune or test AI or machine-learning models, put them in datasets, or clone or imitate the voice.
  • Suggest we endorse you. Don't imply that Phonicademy endorses you or your product, and don't present the Sounds as your own recordings.
  • Use them in harmful ways. Don't use the Sounds in anything illegal, misleading or harmful, or to impersonate anyone.

Credit line

When you use the Sounds in something public, such as a published video, podcast, website or shared resource, please add this credit:

Phonics sounds: Phonicademy (phonicademy.com)

You don't need a credit for playing the Sounds in your own class or at home.

No warranty

The Sounds are provided free and “as is”, without any warranty of any kind. That includes no warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Sounds.

Changes

We may update or withdraw this license, or replace or remove any of the Sounds, at any time. The version on this page applies from the date shown above. If we withdraw permission for a file, please stop using it in new materials.

Commercial use

A commercial license, for apps, games, e-learning and other paid products, is coming soon. To ask about one in the meantime, e-mail phonicademy@gmail.com with the subject “Audio license” and tell us your name or company, your product and which sounds you need.

Questions

Can I use the sounds in my classroom?

Yes, for free. Play them in class, put them in your slides, worksheets and learning platform, and share them with your own students and their families.

Can I use them in a YouTube or TikTok video?

Yes, if the video is not monetized and you include the credit line. Monetized channels, sponsored videos and paid courses are commercial use, which this license does not cover.

Can I use them in my app, game or paid product?

Not under this license. Commercial licensing is coming soon. Until then, e-mail phonicademy@gmail.com with the subject “Audio license” and tell us about your product.

Can I put the files in worksheets I sell on TpT or Etsy?

Please don't bundle the files. You are welcome to link to our free download page from your product instead.

How was the audio made?

The sounds were produced by Phonicademy for learning purposes. Each file is one pure letter sound (“sss”, not “ess”), trimmed and level-matched so the set plays evenly.

Can I use the sounds to train an AI model or clone the voice?

No. Using the sounds for AI or machine-learning training, datasets or voice cloning is not allowed.
