Handy for checking the list fits your child before printing, or for making your own games.

nut, cob, pan, yam, grain, bread, leaf, spice, roast, turkey, grateful, feast, family

How to use it

  1. Choose the page for your child's stage.
  2. Blend, write, and read each word.
  3. Find the real things on the table and match them to the words.
  4. Use one word in a thank-you sentence.

Watch out for

  • Grain, leaf and roast each use a different vowel team (ai, ea, oa) — a good review if all three have been taught.
  • Turkey and pumpkin have two syllables; clap them first, then read each part.
  • Children on CVC words should do only the first page — nut, pan, cob and yam are all decodable.
