How to use it
- Deal out one vowel team at a time. Underline the team with your finger before reading.
- Your child reads the word, then flips to check.
- Pair teams that say the same sound — ai and ay both say long a — and sort cards by sound, not spelling.
- Notice position: ai sits in the middle (rain), ay at the end (hay).
Who it’s for
Ages 5–7, in Stage 5 after digraphs are solid. Some teams here (ay, ea, ie, igh) come after the 43 core sounds — use them as the next step.
