Word Families Write & Read — All 23 Families (Free PDF)
Every rime family from -at to -ub, one page per family — read the onset-rime chunks, then write the whole word.
Showing the first 12 of 24 pages — the full PDF has more.
All 23 of the most useful rime families in one pack — once a child can read -at, they can read bat, cat, fat, flat and more without sounding out every letter.
What’s inside
- An instructions page, then one page per family: -at, -an, -ap, -ag, -am, -ad, -et, -en, -ed, -eg, -it, -in, -ip, -ig, -id, -ot, -og, -op, -ob, -ug, -un, -ut, -ub.
- Each page lists words split into onset and rime (b-at, c-at, f-at, fl-at…) with a line to write each one.

How to use it
- Read the family chunk alone first: "at."
- Add each onset in turn: b… at, bat. Write the word.
- Ask your child to invent a new word in the family, real or silly.
- Leave the blend words (fl-at) until consonant blends have been taught.
