SATPIN Word-Building Worksheet (Free PDF)
Build and read words with the first 6 taught letters — s, a, t, p, i, n — in the classic synthetic-phonics teaching order.
Proof on paper that the first six letters are enough to read real words: every word on these pages uses only the letters unlocked so far.
What’s inside
- An instructions page: say the sounds s, a, t, p, i, n (then m, d, g, o, c, k) before starting.
- Page 2 — words built from s, a, t, p, i, n, split into chunks to blend: s-at, p-at, t-in, t-ap, s-in…
- Page 3 — new words once m, d, g, o, c, k are added: m-ad, c-ot, d-og, p-ig…
Every word in this PDF (20)
Handy for checking the list fits your child before printing, or for making your own games.
sat, pat, tin, tap, sin, sit, pin, pit, nap, tan, sip, pan, pip, span, snap, spat, mad, cot, dog, pig
How to use it
- Say each chunk out loud, then push the chunks together into one word.
- Write the whole word on the line next to it.
- Read the finished list back from top to bottom.
- Do page 2 in the first weeks of Stage 1 and page 3 once the second group of letters is known.
