Long U with a silent e (u_e) — the smallest magic-e group, so it fits on one practice page: cub to cube, cut to cute.

What’s inside

  • An instructions page.
  • One practice page with the word bank cube, cute, dude, huge, tube, use and prompts cub + e →, cut + e →…

How to use it

  1. Read the short word with a short u.
  2. Add the e and read the new word — u_e often says "yoo" (cute) and sometimes "oo" (dude).
  3. Write the new word.
  4. Huge ends in -ge, a soft g; point it out as a bonus pattern.

Watch out for

  • U_e has two sounds: "yoo" in cute and cube, "oo" in dude and tube (in many accents). Both are right.
  • Huge also has a soft g — the e is doing two jobs at once.
  • Use is a common word; practice it in a sentence ("I use a pen").

Who it’s for

Ages 6–7, usually the last of the four magic-e vowels.
