Handy for checking the list fits your child before printing, or for making your own games.
thin, thumb, that, bath, three, math, moth, path, than, teeth, thick, think, cloth
How to use it
- Show the tongue peeking out between the teeth.
- Say thin (quiet) and this (buzzy) and let your child feel the difference with a hand on the throat.
- Blend and write each word.
- This, that and the are very common — practice them until they're instant.
Watch out for
- The buzzy th (this, that, the) and the quiet th (thin, thumb) are spelled the same — say each word to know which one it is.
- Some children say f for th (fumb) or d for th (dat); a mirror helps them see the tongue between the teeth.
- The is very common — practice it until it's instant.
